Pain and Glory is a portrait of Jesus Christ about sacrifice, faith, and the strength to endure. I wanted his face to hold both the weight of what he was going through and a sense of peace.
The gold-flake crown of thorns brings the meaning of the piece together. The same crown that represents his suffering also speaks to his glory.
